National Coverage

UWS operations span six major regions of Uganda, each served by a regional Umbrella Authority:

Total National Reach:

133 districts • 626 operational systems • 130,000+ customer connections • serving over 6.2 million Ugandans (projected June 2025).

Through six regional Umbrella Authorities, the Ministry of Water and Environment is transforming service delivery in small towns and rural growth centres, ensuring that clean and affordable water reaches millions of Ugandans every day.

Their goal is to ensure universal, reliable, and financially sustainable water services for all Ugandans, in alignment with Vision 2040 and Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).
